Similar to our organic innerspring mattress, this version comes with extra edge support clips on the inside of the mattress frame to prevent the sides from caving in when a toddler jumps on it. It still starts with the same 260 elliptical coils as the regular innerspring, which provides even and superior support in contrast to the 180 coil crib mattresses that are usually found on the market. The coils are wrapped in quilted organic cotton. Next organic cotton batting is followed by a thick layer of organic wool. The organic wool is so important because it in itself is a natural flame retardant and stands up to all the regulations of the Consumer Product Safety Commission without the use of one single chemical. Not even minute traces of compound can be found on our wool for the reason that it is carded on a private machine that is only used for organic wool. Then the mattress is topped with premium European organic cotton fabric and quilted to organic cotton mattress ticking to prevent shifting. The sides are then covered in organic wool to prevent moisture from ruining it. This makes a tough mattress that is breathable, safe, and healthy for your baby.
