This mattress starts with the same 1.5" natural rubber core as our wool outer mattresses, but is covered with quilted organic cotton instead. You will need to use a puddle pad with this mattress to protect it. The 1.5" natural rubber core is plenty thick and firm for infants, and is chemical and toxin free. Meets all the standards of the Consumer Product Safety Commission for fire safety.
