Our natural rubber crib mattress starts with a 4.5” natural rubber core. No synthetic materials whatsoever are added to cut costs. It is 100% natural rubber. Natural rubber is the best support for any person’s bone structure, but especially a toddler since children’s bones develop most during the ages of 2-6 years. Wrapped around the rubber core is organic cotton batting, followed by a thick layer of organic wool. The organic wool is vitally important because serves as a natural flame retardant and meets all the regulations of the Consumer Product Safety Commission without the use of one single chemical. Not even minute traces of compound can be found on our wool for the reason that it is carded on a private machine that is only used for organic wool. Then the mattress is topped with premium European organic cotton fabric and quilted to organic cotton mattress ticking to prevent shifting. The sides are then covered in organic wool to prevent moisture from ruining it. This makes a strong mattress that is breathable, safe, and healthy for your baby.

Natural rubber, (also called latex) comes from tapping rubber trees, or Hevea Brasiliensis. You can find these in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka. The latex used in our mattresses usually comes from Sri Lanka. Latex is not the sap of the rubber tree as many people assume. It actually flows from latex ducts just under the bark. To get to the latex, a sharp knife is used to shave a very thin layer off of an intact section of bark. If it is cut too thick or deep there is a possibility of killing the tree. The latex then drips down and is collected into a cup. After collection, the latex is whipped with air to form a foam. The foam is then heated to produce a foam rubber. This material conforms to the shape of your head and body, giving amazing support while minimizing pressure on your joints and back. This provides an even support like innerspring mattresses cannot.

Don't Settle For Just Any Natural Rubber You can trust that our rubber/latex is pure natural rubber and not mixed with synthetic materials. Other products you see that are labeled Natural (Or Organic) Rubber (Or latex) can only means that it has natural rubber in it.
