The coils are treated with tung oil and beeswax for an all natural coating (no toxic oils or chemicals are used.) The coils are then wrapped in quilted organic cotton. Next organic cotton batting is followed by a thick layer of organic wool. The organic wool is so important because it in itself is a natural flame retardant and stands up to all the regulations of the Consumer Product Safety Commission without the use of one single chemical. Not even minute traces of chemical can be found on our wool because it is carded on a private machine that is only used for organic wool. Then the mattress is topped with premium European organic cotton fabric and quilted to organic cotton mattress ticking to prevent shifting.
