Now think about toilet paper. We want our toilet paper to be soft and absorbent to soak up all the liquids and keep us dry and comfortable. A crib sheet, which you are going to use anyway, will certainly absorb the liquids that the puddle pad repels, but is that going to be enough to absorb it all? It depends, of course, on how big the leak is. Any experienced mom can tell you, the leaks can be pretty big at times.

This is where the mattress pad comes in. It provides a little padding to make any mattress more comfortable, and in this case, adds extra absorbency for leaks and other mis-haps in the crib. You wouldn't want just one sheet of toilet paper, right? The thickness of the cotton pad soaks up the leaks better and holds them until you can conveniently throw it in the wash. Use white vinegar in the wash to add absorbency and softness to this pad. (The natural acid in vinegar can also naturally help kill bacteria and germs.) Made from 100% organic cotton.
