Our wool outer infant mattress offers a built in wool puddle pad for protection. (It does not detach, but can be spot cleaned with baking soda and water.) If you want to purchase an additional puddle pad for extra protection and easy machine washing you certainly can, but this gives you the money saving option of not having to. It features a natural rubber 1 inch inner core with a layer of fire-resistant natural wool, measuring 1.5 inches thick when complete. Organic wool is non allergenic and promotes temperature regulation. (Meaning it will help keep your baby warm in the winter and cool in the summer.)

Some cotton quilted outer infant mattresses are still available. Contact us if you are interested in a cotton quilted infant mattress instead of the wool.
